From ancient Egyptian broadcollars to contemporary studio jewelry, the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±ÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ has an exciting collection of jewelry from almost every culture.
The first curator of jewelry in an American art museum was appointed at the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±ÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ in 2006, thanks to a generous and innovative endowment by the Rita J. and Stanley H. Kaplan Family Foundation, in honor of Rita J. Kaplan. While based in the David and Roberta Logie Department of Fashion, Textiles, and Jewelry, the Rita J. Kaplan and Susan B. Kaplan Curator of Jewelry oversees objects of adornment Museum-wide.
